Grievance Procedure training for Asics supply factories – April 9-10, 2009, Qingdao, China

Asics sent their supply factories to attend FLA Grievance Procedure (GP) training to stablize the workforce and to learn sustainable compliance standard in Qingdao, China, April 9-10, 2009. This session involved 2 day training and 2 day coaching. 22 participants representing 5 Asics supplier factories participated in the training. An Asics representative observed the training. The training had interactive exercises, group work and case studies.

 

Before this training, one pilot factory did a self-assessment and had training and coaching service. They need to submit Key Performance Index (KPI) every month to FLA. One year later, they would have another independent external assessment to exam whether they make any progress. 

 

More than 70% participants said this training is great, they learnt a lot from activities and case studies. I learnt more things about conflict management and grievance procedure in 2 days than in 10 years in my life.” – A comment made by a GM about the training. 

 

Asics and FLA will keep our eyes on this pilot factory and follow up their results. It is good news for Chinese factories are focus on Corporation Social Responsibility (CSR) increasingly.
