SCIM H – Consultation

1. What is this training about?

The objective of this training is improving worker-management consultation practices within factories.  This objective is promoted via training on 3 basic and 1 advanced modules.  The basic modules define fundaments of meaningful worker representation in the enterprise, that is an awareness of labor relations, freedom of association, and rights to collective bargaining as areas of management concern.  The advanced module examines what consultation is and the benefits it can give to the enterprise. The need to promote a common understanding of the roles of workers and management in good consultation practices are discussed and ways of so doing explored.  Trainees come away knowing which matters in the enterprise are ripe for consultation and how good consultation can be arranged and developed.

2. Who should consider this training?

All levels of management and supervision, as well as worker leadership should be considered for this training.

3. How long is this training?

This training, which has been divided into basic and advanced levels, runs a total of 2 and one half days. Adaptations can be made to coordinate with other elements of the FLA Labor Relations package.
