SCIM I – Negotiation


1. What is this training about?

The objective of this training is improvement of negotiation practices within factories.  This objective is promoted via training on 3 basic and 1 advanced modules.  The basic modules define fundaments of constructive negotiation practices in the enterprise, that is an awareness of labor relations, freedom of association, and rights to collective bargaining as areas of management concern.  The advanced module presents what constructive negotiation is and what skills are needed to engage in it; a part of the training focuses on skill development.  Different contexts for negotiation are explored with a view to distinguishing elements of good practice for each.



2. Who should consider this training?

All levels of management and supervision, as well as worker leadership should be considered for this training.


3. How long is this training?

This training, which has been divided into basic and advanced levels, runs a total of 2 and one half.  Adaptations can be made to coordinate with other elements of the FLA Labor Relations package.
